Tonight, when I got home, I told the boys that the plan for the night was to build a tower using spaghetti noodles. Ben’s eyes got huge, and then warm, and then delighted. He hugged me with everything he had, and I felt like a cool, hip, awesome mom. I have my moments!
We didn’t watch the video until after we’d worked on our own towers of spaghetti with a marshmallow on top. First we played and experimented, built and snacked.
Then Dad helped them roast their marshmallows.
We even watched the TED talk, which is truly geared for grown-ups, so it was a little dry for the boys. But I was so excited about the speaker, that they humored me and watched almost to the end.
We love Science Night.
