Ben and Bean only really picked Strawberries to sample and eat this time around. Snacks Galore!
We have two big rows full of strawberries – all coming in at once right now.
The sun was in my eye. But there’s some lusciousness right there peaking out from behind big leaves!
Cleaning the Strawberries
Mushing them after all the cores are gone
Delicious Strawberry Jam on homemade biscuits. Such a Sunny, Bright Taste!
Ben described the Jam as “Mushed Awesomeness.” This, I believe, is a compliment. I can say that this Strawberry Jam was the most delicious I have ever tasted in my life. Perhaps it is because the Strawberries came from our own garden, and have been tended since last season to get them to produce a harvest. There is a lot of work that goes into jam – picking, cleaning, coring, smashing, boiling and putting into jars that have been sterilized in a water bath.
It is so… so very… very well worth it! Eyes closed to savor more completely – Yum!
