Woke up with Words on My Mind and Then Something Else Entirely Interrupted

the sky behind power lines
There is no middle
no beginning
no end
no wandering towards
or skipping away

There is the eternal
now

The eternal, boring, loud,
without moving up and down
I mean
no breath
no getting bigger with inhale
getting smaller with exhale
there is no breathing
there is no seeing
there is no hearing
there is no listening
there is no noticing

There is no noticing.
How would anyone survive?

Oh, that’s right
we’re not discussing survival

We are discussing power
blind power
blind, cruel, un-feeling
no empathy
no curiosity
no whimsy
no wondering

Absolute certainty
all the time
no matter what
even in confusion

I was trying to set the stage
no middle, no beginning

I was trying to see the whole
the huge, the vast,
and instead of nature
and all its beauty

I got little men in power

Tiny - but wealthy
No one likes them
No one wants them in the room

They have no manners
no substance
nothing of interest

Except their compounding interest
And they are the only ones
who are impressed.
They and their other little
worthless - okay - they have a balance sheet
they do - they have sums, they have figures.

Just - no one but their circle cares.

The rest of us are skipping rocks.
And hoping we wake up tomorrow.

Not sure why we’re so committed
to this lost cause.

What are your thoughts?

Well, Hello
