Let’s Start the Day with Art

After Scott and I finished Morning Chores, he left for a day of removing an emergency tree. Ben started his day by inviting me to join him at the Kitchen Table. “We can pull out all the art supplies and just color and draw together – everything but the paints, because that would get too messy.” He said he’d gotten an idea from something he saw recently and he wanted to try it. Because Scott was working today, I wasn’t in a big hurry to go out and do farm work on my own. Eventually Bean woke up and wanted to join us, so he and Wubby started their own page. We sat around and colored for a bit before breakfast and gave ourselves a restful, quiet, meditative, creative start to our day.

Ah! This is the life!
