Before These Moments Slip Away

par·a·dox

noun \ˈper-ə-ˌdäks, ˈpa-rə-\

: something (such as a situation) that is made up of two opposite things and that seems impossible but is actually true or possible

Ben went through a Phantom of the Opera phase a while back, after reading a kid version of the story at school, and made the mask, and acted the part, until I had to rent the movie, and we both sat completely mesmerized by it. Ben brought Bean into the Phantom costume phase with him. Bean wanted to learn to play the organ so he could accompany Ben as he walked around dramatically with a cape, or bath towel.

Today, at the Library we rented the soundtrack for Phantom of the Opera. Both boys (ages 6 and 10) and I sang along to the soundtrack in the car (as best we could), and then lost our minds over a completely suped up NOVA 327 that pulled up beside us at a stop light. That seemed like a pretty big opposite to me.

And the tickets to the upcoming Rob Zombie concert came in the mail today. We are a ridiculous mess of paradoxes.
